Welcome to & COFFEE MAISON KAYSER - SUINA Muromachi Shop, a delightful cafe nestled in the heart of Kyoto's bustling Shimogyo Ward. From the moment you step through the door, you’ll be captivated by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries that beckons you to take a moment from your day to relax and indulge.

This charming cafe beautifully balances the essence of a traditional Parisian patisserie with a modern Japanese vibe, making it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers. The menu features an array of delectable baked goods that promise to tantalize your taste buds. Among these, the halfboiled egg danish stands out, praised by visitors like Jo Man for its 'intense and yummy' flavor—a must-try when paired with a steaming cup of black coffee.

As you sit back and enjoy your treats, you’ll appreciate the cafe's serene atmosphere, perfect for unwinding while watching the world go by outside. Jakob Schep noted, "It’s a nice place to sit down for a bit and look out on the busy streets,” capturing the lovely juxtaposition between the lively Kyoto streets and the tranquil retreat that this cafe offers.

The selection of pastries is truly impressive, with items like flaky croissants, rich pains au chocolat, and delicate éclairs that delight the senses and remind European patrons of their favorite bakery at home, as noted by Ilse van Ewijk. Although the coffee may not be the very best you’ll ever have, it more than compensates with its comforting warmth and affordability, making it a great choice for those looking to enjoy a cup while indulging in a sweet treat.

For a hearty and satisfying option, don’t miss out on the croissant sandwiches—particularly the ham and cheese variant, highlighted by many, including Tavien Tripp, for its delightful flavor. Paired with an iced mocha latte, this combination will transport you back to cozy mornings spent in your favorite cafe.

With its inviting ambiance, fast service, and scrumptious offerings, & COFFEE MAISON KAYSER - SUINA Muromachi Shop is more than just a stop for coffee; it’s a pocket of comfort away from home. Whether you’re here to recharge after a day of exploring or simply savor a moment of indulgence, this cafe promises an experience that nourishes both body and soul. Come to sit, sip, and satisfy your cravings—your taste buds will thank you!

Come for the half-boiled egg danish, so intense and yummy, best with black coffee. Environment is relaxing.

It’s a nice place to sit down for a bit and look out on the busy streets. Nice coffee and some delicious baked goods. It won’t be the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had but price wise I’d say it’s definitely worth.

We randomly walked into this coffee shop after visiting the Pokémon Center upstairs. As a European, I was very pleasantly surprised by the view of crunchy looking croissants, pains au chocolat, éclairs and more. I just couldn't resist and had to taste them, and they tasted just as they would from a bakery at home. The coffee was pretty average though and wasn't that hot but just warm, so that could have been better. Also, we did dine-in, but the coffee still came in throw-away cups. Kind of wasteful, especially with the plastic lids.

Very enjoyable place for coffee and a croissant. Gave us a nice chance to feel like we were back home after 10 days of more traditional Japanese restaurants. Located in bookstore.

Extremely fast service. The croissant sandwiches are very good and taste similar to Cheba Hut. The ham and cheese croissant and iced mocha latte are the best things to order here.

We went there today and we had a hot espresso and ice latte, I slept. It was good but slightly milky for our taste. The espresso however was top-notch. It was good taste and staff spoke good English and was very helpful.! We also had a small slice of pizza and a croissant which both was fabulous !

For breakfast quite nice. There is a selection of sweet as well as savory treats. There is a tea of the month, which is a bit cheaper. Friendly service at the self-service. The dishes and garbage are cleaned and sorted into the appropriate containers. You are welcome to come and visit.
